Album Notes
Martin Gilmore's self-titled debut album is a wonderful collection of unique original music. Each song on the album tells a unique story and collects together into a wonderful compellation of acoustic music. Comprised of mostly original music this album presents a wonderful addition to a growing acoustic movement, as well as fitting firmly into the genre of a singer/songwriter. His choice of Doc and Merle Watson's "Southbound" is an homage to his roots in acoustic bluegrass and folk music, and it comes together in a wonderful Bluegrass version.

Born in western Nebraska, Martin's writing conjurs a feeling of open space and broad vision. It draws on historic ideas and universal concepts that move and inform. Paired with an intriguing narrative style and superb musicianship, his songs come to live in a very entertaining product.

The album features some impressive talent, including: Justin Hoffenberg on Fiddle, Todd Livingston on Reso-phonic guitar and Weissenborn, Rich Zimmerman on Mandolin, Eric Thorin on Bass, Aaron Youngberg on banjo (track 5 "Bottomland"), Erin Youngberg and Travis Book on Harmony vocals, and Hot Rize Banjo Player Pete Wernick on Banjo.

The album was produced by Travis Book, bassist from The Infamous Stringdusters a fantastic songwriter as well. This album was his first project as a producer and lent the record a fresh and unique feel.

Martin Gilmore currently lives in Denver, Colorado and is the guitarist and lead singer in the up and coming bluegrass band Long Road Home which features the talents of Justin Hoffenberg, a fantastic bluegrass fiddler; Jordan Ramsey, 2008 Rockygrass mandolin champion and extraordinary McReynolds style player; two time Grammy winner and veteran of the Nashville Bluegrass Band Gene Libbea on Bass; and banjo legend as well as 30+ year member of the critically acclaimed band Hot Rize "Dr. Banjo" Pete Wernick. The group has a fantastic traditional sound that is sure to please any bluegrass connoisseur.
