Album Notes
Jets and Snakes - Nothing Ever Went Wrong
songs written and produced by Roger Paul Mason
c. Super Fun Songs, ASCAP

This album has a long story actually. WAY back in 2001 i was driving back from work in my 1988 nissan Z.
Affectionately known as the poor man's Porsche, the car was a beast like many of it's age it had a broken tape player, working radio.
There was a country song playing in the middle of the night and i made up my mind to start writing 'real music with lyrics' or at least something
less bizarre than improvised electronic jams that i had been recording.

Then somehow 10 years went by. I guess i never developed that singer-songwriter type of shameless self promotion. It was enough for me at the time to have written some songs. Instead i moved back to NYC, went on tour with Skeleton Key, moved to Boston and got serious about Ten Minute Turns albums, moved to western MA and toured with Hector on Stilts, made a bunch of music videos and finally moved back to New York and did the music for a cartoon show. When the dust settled from all that i was able to carve out a month and with the help of Luis Granda and Frank Moscowitz get the tracks mixed enough to be listenable.

Nothing Ever Went Wrong is a time-lapse record and the songs are all over the sonic map. 10 years is far too long to tinker with a song set, but i can't describe how good it feels to finally say DONE.
I've never stopped writing either. There's another 2 albums worth of songs i ought
to release by next year. Thanks for reading, keep in touch.
