Album Notes
Jingbang are often described as 'more than a ceilidh band' because of the quality of their music, their engaging live performances, and the lyrical approach they take to their songs.

Jingbang Ceilidh Band features: Dubliner, Eileen Bresnan on whistle/flute, Aberdeen-born Tim Jones on banjo/mandolin/tenor guitar, Montrose guitarist/vocalist Graham Stephen, piano/keyboard/vocalist Anne Taylor from North-East England, and Shetland fiddler/vocalist Claire White. The band has been performing together for a little over 10 years, and after much persuasion from their fans, have finally visited the recording studio to create this CD, so that their music can reach a wider audience. The band performed live in the recording studio, to capture the energy that characterises their stage performances, and this helps transmit the pure fun and enjoyment the musicians generate onto the CD.

There are 12 tracks, nine of which are instrumentals featuring a combination of traditional and modern tunes from Scotland, Ireland and the USA. The three songs, composed by giants of the Scottish folk world Karine Polwart, Michael Marra (now sadly deceased) and John Douglas, are carefully arranged to highlight the beauty of the words and melodies, embellished with harmonies, and work beautifully.

The CD is arranged so that you can organise your very own Scottish ceilidh dance party, with written instructions for eleven dances to help novices or occasional ceilidh dancers to walk through the steps of each dance before the music begins. The fast set dances are interspersed with less energetic couples dances and waltzes to avoid exhausting the 'audience'. The final song, "All Will Be Well" is a suitable finale to what should be a very enjoyable do-it-yourself dance party evening!
