Album Notes
Steven Gigante

A non-native from Chicago, IL. began his playing of the Native American flute in 1999. He received his first Flute recording as a gift from his mom and dad. It was the “Emergence” recording from R. Carlos Nakai. His sound inspired Steven to play the Native American Flute.
In 2008, Steven released his debut album “Prairie Paths”. (which included his teacher, Mike Becker) It was then revised and re-released in 2013. Steven also put together a DVD in 2011 for his family and friends.
Steven really enjoys improvising on the Native American Flute and composing his own songs. Mike Becker has also taught him some of the Old Traditional songs, as well.
Steven has had a high interest in the Native American People since Grammar School. He’s attended various Native American Pow Wow’s in the Chicagoland area and in Northern Wisconsin.
Steven is also very supportive of the Native American Cause. He is a member of the American Indian Relief Council’s, Circle of Friends. “The American Indian Relief Council (AIRC) helps Native American’s improve the quality of their own lives by providing opportunities for them to bring about positive changes in their own communities”. As a member, Steven provides a monthly donation that is used to provide food, when it is needed most.
Aside from his flute playing, Steven is also a Horticulturist. He received his Associate’s degree in Applied Science (AAS) under Ornamental Horticulture/Landscape design & Maintenance in 2004. He is currently working for a Nursery/Garden Center & Landscaping Company. If you would like to know more about Steven and his music, checkout his website at: You can also follow him on:
