ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mark Roebuck, Michael Colley and their band Sub Seven create an explosively inventive sonic solar system blending pop, metal, funk, and classic rock influences! Each song tells a different story, rich in narrative. From the drug-addled gangsters in Henry and Paul, to the kidnapping uncle in Riding With My Uncle, the songs are densely populated with outrageous and original characters.

Sub Seven's lead singer, Mark Roebuck co-wrote with Dave Matthews "The Song That Jane likes" for the seminal Tribe of Heaven project completed in 1990. He was also the lead singer of the classic underground power-pop band The Deal, which had an anthology of material released by Not Lame Records in 2003.

Michael Colley, lead guitarist of SubSeven also co-founded the rap-metal band Burning Core in 1989 with bandmate Mark Roebuck. An extremely versatile musician, he has played in a number of prominent Charlottesville ensembles such as Triple Feature, and the Mob. Drummer Gary Mills has played with Junior Walker and the All Stars. Bassist Pete "I killed it fo' I ate it" Adamy hails from Seattle Washington, and is a veteran of the cult-alternative band Merv Spiegel and the Penguins.

Its an amazing CD.

ian

great mix of genres
I loved the pop sensibility mixed with the funk, rap, rock-metal overtones. I am wondering why I haven't heard of these guys.

Rock

raging guitars with intelligent, witty lyrics
Reminds me of a cross between Dada and Beck. The more I listen, the more I like it. Its rare to find really hard core rock, locally produced, that has lyrics that are understadable, adn make sense, adn actually tell a story. A great unexpected find!
