Frost and Fire Giant Robot Dance Sell your music everywhere

Aaron Marcus

Aaron (they/them) has a unique sound that draws on a rich background of music and dance traditions including New England contra, classical piano, and music and dance traditions from the British Isles, Scandinavia, eastern Canada, west Africa, and the Appalachians. Well known throughout the Northeast and beyond for their performances with Frost and Fire, Giant Robot Dance, The Turning Stile, and other collaborations, Aaron brings exuberant energy, creativity, pulse, tenderness, lyrical flow, and a thoughtful and open heart, whether percussive step dancing or playing tunes on concertina. Aaron became immersed in the New England contra dance tradition and began studying piano at age 5. After studying with A. Ramón Rivera at New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and also with Jacqueline Schwab, Aaron went on to study, concertina, 5-string banjo, and percussive step dance. They have written hundreds of compositions, and are frequently also found teaching percussive step dance or giving walks or lectures about botany.
Aaron works part time as Assistant Botanist for Vermont's Fish and Wildlife Department, and also as a seasonal botanist for the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forest, monitoring and mapping the state's rare and endangered plants.
