Jeronim Szabolcs Marić, Adastra's frontman, started off his music career as a guitar player and songwriter for popular Croatian band Flare. Their debut album "Srebrni" (Silver) won public and critical acclaim winning both a Porin and a Crni Mačak, the two most respected Croatian music awards, for the best debut album of the year. Flare was also the support act for the cult 80's retro band Duran Duran and European rock phenomenon HIM in Zagreb.
Apart from being a musician and songwriter, Jeronim also decided to have a go at audio producing and worked as an amateur producer for Flare. He was then offered a producing job with Croatian record label Croatia Records to produce a song for talented singer Emina Arapović. The song was awarded first prize at the Split Song Festival for best arrangement and production in 2004.. Impressed by his producing talent, Jerko is then offered a job to produce and arrange prominent Croatian singer/songwriter Boris Novković's new album "Ostvaren san" (Realised dream) which was a success and has won golden disc. At the same time, he receives an audio engineering diploma in Ljubljana from the prestigious Australian-American school SAE.

Not wanting to abandon his natural songwriting ability, Jeronim joins forces with Željko Topalušić, a bass player, and forms ADASTRA. After several months of rehearsals and numerous successful gigs in Croatia and abroad including Körmend (Hungary), Rock Otočec (Slovenia), UFO festival Osijek (Croatia), ADASTRA withdrew to the recording studio, where they prepared material for their debut self-titled album under the Croatia Records label. They released 5 singles (and video clips) which received constant airplay on radio stations in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
In the last 4 years, ADASTRA have played more than 200 gigs at various rock festivals and concerts. They have also played numerous live performances on TV and radio. November 2007, ADASTRA was chosen as the supporting act for British rock band Muse in Zagreb. Muse have been awarded a British music award and MTV award for Best live band 2 years in a row!

In 2007, ADASTRA released their highly anticipated debut album. The album was conceptually designed so that every song is followed by a drawing. The band members wanted not only to evoke the listener aurally but also allow them to live the song visually. Care was taken with the lyrics so that they educe emotion and relevance. The album consists of 12 original songs with song "Pusti" (Let them) featuring hugely popular Croatian rapper General Woo.

After the highly successful media launch of the album in Zagreb, Jerko and the guys go on tour entitled "Be CROative", which is an initiative of the Croatian Economic Chamber to get young people in Croatia to become creative individuals. Their tour of 12 cities and towns around Croatia is a huge success and showcases ADASTRA's album in the best possible light - in front of a live and appreciative audience. In 2008, ADASTRA decide to tour Dalmatia during the summer months where they held 10 concerts - every concert was held in a different place.
In 2009, ADASTRA won Band of the year award, chosen by the listeners of Croatian National radio.
ADASTRA's hit single „Nabujala rijeka“ was translated into English and by name „Nina“ was published in the compilation of Radio Express from Los Angeles that features the latest singles from world famous artists such as Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Leona Lewis, Foo Fighters, Mika ... This compilation was sent to radio stations around the world in more than 80 countries.

As a result of increase bullying amongst youth in Croatia, project "It's everyone's right to live" was launched in October 2008. This social issue has become a problem in Croatia in recent times and was brought to even more prominence in the Croatian media after the tragic death of Luka Ritz - who died after being bashed by random teenagers on the streets on Zagreb. This was the brainchild of Jerko Marić, who not only established this project but also wrote a song about this problem of bullying in his song "Surovi grade" (Raw city) . This song became became an anthem of youth against violence.
With support from the Prime Minister of Croatia, President of Croatia, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ministry of the Interior, Croatian National radiotelevision and many more, ten successful educational concerts in protest of this current issue of youth violence were held in 6 Croatian cities. Over 50,000 people attended these concerts. Due to the support the band has received from this project, they would like to continue to hold concerts and bring to light this ever increasing issue that is affecting the youth of Croatia today. Through their music and example, they strive to continue to reach out to the young people, parents and relevant organisations to support them, and together send the message out to potential perpetrators that what they are doing/intend on doing is not cool! Through their performance and music, ADASTRA continues to promote the message of love, tolerance, acceptance and peace to all.
Given that the song "Raw city” had so much influence among the youth and defined ADASTRA’s career path, it was decided that the new album should be titled “Raw city”. The album was released in March 2011. Album brings twelve new songs and features many young artists, but also some renowned musicians. As soon as the album was realeased, it reached first place in Croatian albums chart .
In February 2011, ADASTRA realeased their first video in full HD resolution, single “Svima se dogodi” (It happens to everyone)which can be seen here:

Concert promotion of new album took place on 15th of April in Boogaloo club in Zagreb. As ADASTRA wanted to reward their loyal fans, they decided to organize a raffle in which first prize was an electric guitar Sterling JP50 (signature John Petrucci) Stealth (sponsor TMS Music Shop)
After the concert promotion of their new album in Zagreb, Adastra embarked on a tour with the tour kicking off on April 26th in Split. ADASTRA is still on the tour, performing in many cities both in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
