Alex Allen

Alex Allen is this generation’s answer to Smooth Gospel Jazz that has a distinct anointed sound. Alex Allen was born August 4, 1987 and is a part of a family of 6 generations of Pentecostal preaching. At age 5, Alex, displayed his music interest toward the percussion instruments. In 1998, he was a part of the Beauregard Parish School System and his mentor of music was Eddie Joslin. Alex started out playing the clarinet but was not able to get a good feel of it.

Alex was also blessed to be mentored by Elder Samuel Kelly, Sr., Elder Roy Mosby, and Elder Jeffrey Johnson. Within this mentorship, Alex gained a great interest in the saxophone. He was blessed to work under the leadership of national award band director Carolyn Herrington. Under her leadership Alex was a part of “4 States Jazz band”.

After graduating from Deridder High School in 2005, Alex accepted a full scholarship from the University of Arkansas at Monticello as was able to work with Gary Meggs. Gary shared a key point with Alex to remember in his career ... “Never speak for your gift, it speaks for itself”. During the building of his saxophone career, Alex has had the privilege of opening up for Yolanda Adams, Louisiana 1st and Arkansas 3rd COGIC Jurisdictions, J. Jevon Jackson and Spiritual Attitude, Dr. Moses Tyson, and also had the opportunity to open up for Kefia Rollerson.

In 2013, Alex Allen was appointed, ordained, and installed as a pastor under Apostle Vertie Pettiford and also married Lady Amberial Allen the same year. His freshmen CD Project “Covered” is scheduled to be released in January 2015 which precedes his double-single release of “Victory” and "Coffee Shop Worship" on November 15, 2014.
