Aris Quiroga

Aris Quiroga Nieto is a teacher, composer and concert classical guitarist who also is an innovator in classical-inspired world music. A native of Bogota Colombia, he studied at National University of Bogota in Colombia, and the conservatory of music in Madrid, Spain. He also completed master classes with guitarists Abel Carlevaro, Oscar Giglia, Michael Lorimer, Andres Segovia, Carlos Barbosa Lima, Pepe Romero and Angel Romero.
His past concert performances include solo with the Colombia Philharmonic Orchestra performing the Concerto in D Major composed by Antonio Vivaldi and the Concerto in A Major composed by Fernando Carulli.
Aris has performed throughout Spain where he perfomed live on the national radio and television networks and recitals in Madrid, Asturias, Oviedo and Jijon. His performances in Colombia include a concert for the Colombian President at San Carlos Palace with the Philharmonic Orchestra, on National Television Bogota, at the National University of Bogota, and the concert halls Colombo German Alliance, Colombo French Alliance, and Colombo Brazilian Institute. He has also perfomed in the the Netherland Antilles in Aruba. In Aruba, Aris has appeared in concert at the House of Culture, five additional televised concert performances, and was an instructor at the music association of Aruba called Adaima.
In the USA, Aris has performed throughout California at the Cypress College, State University of Long Beach, El Camino College, and Brand Library, and on Evening Concert on National Public Radio (KLON). He was an instructor of guitar at Joslyn Center in Los Angeles.
Artists Aris has performed or recorded with include members of the former Gypsy Kings, Strunz & Farah, Jim Brock, K. S. Resmi, N. Scott Robinson, Tomas de San Julian, and Opera Carolina, among many others. Aris is a seasoned performer having given concerts at prestigious venues and major 5-star hotels in North Carolina, Florida, Puerto Rico, Aruba, and Colombia including Doral Spa, Biltmore Hotel, Sonesta Hotel, Intercontinental Hotel, Grand Bay Hotel, The Center of the Fine Arts, and the Historical Museum, Marriott Hotel, the Ballantyne Resort, Mint Musuem, Belk Theatre, and Condado Plaza Wyndham Hotel (San Juan, Puerto Rico). Aris Quiroga was a faculty member at the Community School of the Arts in Charlotte, North Carolina from 2002-2004. In 2007, he was featured in a live performance on WDAV radio in Charlotte, North Carolina in a program called the Main Street Sessions.
