BULAT Gafarov - famous russian composer, musician multi-instrumentalist, singer with unique voice, collector of musical instruments and ethnographer. King of World music.

In the collection of Bulat Gafarov more than 500 musical instruments of the world, such as: violins, flutes, mouth harps, percussions, didgeridoo, kalimba, koto, hang, drums, keyboards, brass and string instruments. Thirty of them Bulat uses in his one-man band performances. Bulat is recognized as the owner of a unique vocal, he professionally sings throat, oriental, russian singing and beatbox.

Bulat works in United States, Canada, Russia, Europe and Asia. His compositions are in many films, theaters, commercials, animated films and performances.

Bulat music covers many styles: world music, ethno, electronic, classical music and jazz.

Bulat was in many countries where he studied folklore, singing and playing various musical instruments. He has organized several successful ethnographic expeditions where he recorded a unique musical material.

On the web site of his band Bulat created a unique e-encyclopedia of musical instruments.

Bulat and his band have more than 10 diplomas and awards from the Government of Moscow, India and various festivals.

Bulat is the winner of several international competitions of composers, such as: International Songwriting Competition, Great American Song Award, USA Songwriting Competition, Malibu Music Awards

Brief BIO:

Bulat plays music since 6 years old, composed music since12 years old. At the College of Music he studied violin, piano, trumpet. Then Bulat two years studied composition at the Moscow Conservatory.

At 16 years old he started to collect ethnic musical instruments: flutes, jew's harps, ethnic percussion (darbuka, djembe), didgeridoo, sitar, koto, kalimba and others. Now in his collection about 300 musical instruments.
