Catherine Pittman

Catherine began writing original songs and song arrangements at 15, teaching them to friends and choirs who would perform them at various local youth events. She received first award performing one of her songs at a local youth talent show. When her sister announced she was expecting her first child, Catherine had a heartfelt wish to write and record a lullaby album. With a little help from her friends, Catherine recorded her first album, "Sleepy Time Lullabies," an album with vocals and instrumentals only--- or as Catherine calls it, "lullaby karaoke."

What began as a very special gift, bloomed into Catherine's small production company, Pitter Patter Productions, established the year her niece was born. Her niece was also the inspiration behind her first toddler album, "Topsy Toddler Time" and first holiday album, "The Magic of Christmas." Both her niece and nephew inspired "The Dream Faerie," and joined Catherine in singing, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." "Logan was just 5 years old, and was quite shy with the recording engineer. We caught a really cute giggle from his shy interactions with my engineer John just before they started to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Start," that we kept it in the recording." The title song from the album also won an award in the fall of the same year, making the album special all around.

While her original musical inspirations are now teenagers, Catherine still enjoys creating music for children, particularly lullabies. Her niece and nephew have benefited from the little company's sales, as it has allowed Catherine to provide them with school books, supplies and extracurricular activities, including piano and achery lessons. Catherine's ultimate dream is to provide an avenue for other children to explore music through the company's sales. "I haven't found that avenue yet, but I'll know it when I see and hear it!"

Catherine's production company, Pitter Patter Productions, is located in Oregon.
