Chris Carney

My first recollections of playing music with friends was from early high school when I played guitar and sang in a Kingston Trio type band. When Bob Dylan came on to the scene my folkie priorities changed. In my senior high school year book under my picture was the caption "The second angry young folk singer" Bob being the first of course.
My brother came home from college one time with an album by a band called The Scotsville Squirl Barkers. Bluegrass at it's best! I was hooked!
However, it took many years before I got into playing that music. A while after college, I found myself with a banjo (don't ask) and some extra time and money. I decided I'd learn how to play that thing. Well, one thing lead to another and I got into old time music which is mostly what I play now.
As it says on the album, I played all the instruments and sang all the vocals.
