Chris Orchard

Chris Orchard is a popular recognisable actor in several successful television series from the late 1970's up to 1991. Chris works regularly as a musician with the duo BIG TALK and as a solo artist in Sydney and NSW Clubs. He was nominated in 2009 as Best Songwriter in the Music Aid International Song Contest. He has just released his first album entitled ‘The Way it Goes’. He studied at National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney.
He accumulated credits in Sydney theatre working at the Nimrod and Old Tote, before moving to Melbourne to work with the MTC. He had already appeared as a lead actor in the soap Young Doctors and was targeted by Crawford Productions for several series including the period drama Carson's Law in which he played the wayward son Tommy Carson with great distinction. Subsequently Chris was offered the lead role in the show 'Prime Time'. He returned to Sydney and was a regular on 'E Street' for 18 months. Chris has appeared in leading roles in five major television series and has over 500 hours of television screen time under his belt.
He pursued a career on the distribution side of the film business for more than 10 years taking senior management roles with Cinema International, Polygram and Universal Pictures
