Simon Roberts (aka) Classicalbanksy

A successful Opera singer, managed by Luciano Pavarotti, Simon was forced to retire prematurely for health reasons. He became an Artists’ Manager then PA to the composer Gian-Carlo Menotti. Inspired by the Maestro, Simon re-entered the professional music scene in 2017 with his debut composition The American Dream? (

Two further singles quickly followed - Futureblind (Ray Tarantino remix and Sei il mio Nomi, ( his very personal tribute to Klaus Nomi. 2019 sees the release of his debut album Transgenre (the current provisional playlist, some tracks unfinished, can be heard here :, which promises to redefine the relationship between Pop and Classical, and hopes to raise Crossover music to new and innovative levels.

A student on Hans Zimmer’s Film Score Masterclass in 2017, in 2018 Simon wrote the scores to ‘Bloodline,’ dir Will Rogers, and ‘The Colour of Torment,’ dir Rachel Kelly. These join a growing body of media music work, including theme music to two small-screen historical documentaries, and several commercial scores (Excerpts and examples here: (Excerpts from both can be seen here:

Simon makes his USA debut, as part of the Sundance Festival Community, at the Sundance Film Festival 2019, in California.
