Corin Ashley

Boston singer/ songwriter Corin Ashley has spent a lifetime in music, playing thousands of shows over the years in far-flung and exotic locale and occasional splendour as well as down and dirty local bars. A dynamic, compelling live performer, his true passion is songwriting.

As bass player/lead singer of Boston Mod-Pop heroes, the PIlls, Corin spent 10 years in a mythical white van named Doug, crisscrossing New England and playing shows all over the U.S. Canada, Spain and the U.K. The Pills toured and played shows with Supergrass AND Superdrag, Sloan, The LIbertines, The Wrens, The Smithereens, Ian Hunter of Mott the Hoople, B-52s, TV On the Radio and a host of others.

As a solo artist, Corin has explored his more melodic, psychedelic Beatley side with more acoustic guitars, more electric piano and lush vocal harmonies Of course, being a huge Paul McCartney fan, he still builds a foundation of Hofner bass underneath it all!. He has recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, Ardent in Memphis (with Big Star drummer Jody Stephens on the skins) and has had special guests such as Ken Stringfellow (Posies/REM), Kay Hanley (Letters To Cleo), Martin Carr (Boo Radleys), Edward Ball (TV Personalities), Tanya Donnelly (Belly/Throwing Muses) and Richard Davies appear on his albums. He has appeared in concert with Robyn Hitchcock, Ron Sexsmith, Al Kooper, Ian McLagan of the Faces, Pugwash, Styx (true!) and Dave Davies of The Kinks.

Fans of XTC, Crowded House, Jellyfish and their progeny: Brendan Benson, Jason Faulkner and Jon Brion will find much to adore in Corin's albums.
