Dana Thompson

Born in Wolverhampton on September 30, 1972 Dana moved to London city at the age of 27 to pursue a career in music.. As a child Dana always had a strong passion for singing and writing music and consistently wrote beautiful songs. Dana gained experience through singing in church and also at local talent shows but it wasn’t until the age of 15 that Dana produced her first demo ‘Falling in love’ recorded at the Sam Sharpe’s recording studio in Wolverhampton. This left Dana with a taste of things to come, given the fact that her parents preferred her take a more guaranteed career move.
Nevertheless Dana had to settle for second best which was fashion designing. After leaving school, Dana attended Stafford College to study batique she then moved on to Coventry Technical College to study fashion designing where she graduated, then 9 years later Dana obtained a Diploma in production tailoring at the London school of fashion. She spent the next few years working in unfulfilled job roles until February 2009 when Dana made a life changing decision to finally make a commitment in turning her life around and dedicating the rest of her life to doing what she enjoys most and does best.
Dana took charge of her music, creatively writing and co-writing her songs arranging and producing her music. Dana immediately began work on her debut album December 2008 and spent much of 2009 working towards completing her self- titled album ‘Look Beyond Me’ which was released in August 2009. This album was heavily influenced by real raw emotions taken from some of Dana’s real life experiences. Although Dana’s journey seems as if it has only just begun her communication between words and notes certainly have a tendency not only to connect with her audience but inspire them also. She has the ability to lyrically capture and bring out deeply rooted emotions you never knew you had leaving the listener in anticipation and wanting more.
