David Samuel Thomas

St. Augustine said that he who sings prays twice. David prefers to sing his prayers, chanting the Psalms to Sarum and Gregorian tones. Combining the Eastern and Western traditions of the Church with Charismatic zeal he attempts to lead listeners into the heart of Jesus.

At age 12 David was drafted into the children's choir at his church. After singing a few solos he realized that performing was fun. In the late 1980's he sang and used guitar in a garage band called Vladimir's Universe. The twenty-first century found him recording as Mister Corduroy, performing poetic alternative rock and folk. But he always stayed involved in church singing--as a worship leader in a Pentecostal assembly and a tonsured Reader in the Orthodox Church.

Rather than sing by note, David sings by letter, "I just open my mouth and let 'er rip!" Rather than try to be a virtuoso or musical historian, he is a worshipper of God. David hopes that his recordings lead others to lift their hearts to the Father and open up to more of the Holy Spirit.
