Wow! Sometimes there just are not enough hours in a day but here it is: as requested, my short autobiography.

My earliest musical memory occurred at 4 years of age. That huge, brown wooden box with white keys stood just below my eye level......hmm.....what does that do? At 5 years old it was enlightening to see my pretty, petite, fashionable and poised Aunt Dot playing an elaborate, harmonious and rhythmic marching tune for our Halloween parade! It was amazing.....and shortly afterward, piano instruction from my kindergarten teacher, Aunt Dot commenced. Her kind, gentle and soft-spoken ways were so inspirational and by the third grade I was accompanying my class while they sang The Lutheran hymn, " Chief of Sinners Though I Be." Soon thereafter, I was the regular Sunday School piano player.

We moved in the fourth grade and piano lessons were put on hold for a year. Then, family bonds brought us back to Chattanooga and since Aunt Dot had moved away, my new teacher was Mrs. after 2 years of lessons from her, I performed for my first recital, "Tarantella!" What a blessing to be given that opportunity by my parents and received encouragement from family and friends. Mrs. Rymer told my parents that she could no longer teach me and that I should go to a university to continue with piano. Being one of six children, it seemed that time, transportation and finances would not allow that, so music was again put on hold. Singing in the choir fed the musical passion throughout high school and then I pursued a nursing education through the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing. It was an honor to be asked by my roommate to play for her wedding reception. One of my first purchases was Baldwin piano!!! After moving to Birmingham for a nursing position, marrying Steve and having four awesome, intelligent and beautiful children and moving around for husband's Air Force assignments such as Andrews Air Force Base, Lackland Air Force Base and then Maxwell Air Force Base, the piano moved with us wherever we went. Singing for the "Mothersingers," Air Force Skylarks and occasional piano playing kept the passion alive. moved on, the children were grown, the 23 year nursing career ended and I then obtained a general studies degree from the University of Alabama. Then what? It seemed there was not a direct path or clear sign as to what was in my future, so after considering possible options, I decided to market myself as a musician.....but how? So, after practicing several hours a day for months, found the Atmosphere Recording Company in Montgomery, Alabama with David Campbell, as owner, and he came to the house and set up to record!!! It was amazing!!! The end result "Expedition: Tranquility," which has been spinning on Radio-Airplay and Pandora a few years now and soon after, "Comfort Christmas" was recorded. So, now my piano students enlighten and inspire me and other projects are in the future!!! Thanks be to God!!! Thanks to the family!!! Thanks be to you all!!!
