Dorothy Cresswell

Born in Mississippi into a large family, raised by radical social justice-minded parents in a large family, Dorothy grew up singing with them and singing out for different causes. As a teacher she wrote songs when the curriculum didn't have them, and when she retired she started making CDs. "Curious Songs for Curious Kids" "More Songs for Curious Kids" won awards from Creative Child, a parent and teacher evaluated contest. Her newest album "Pelican Pilot: Songs of Florida" sings of the wonders of the animals, courageous children, and beauty of Florida.

Her biggest retirement project has been writing and producing "The Curious Giraffe Show" a musical discussion program with children. Now in it's fourth year, and winner of the 2017 ACM Video Awards in Children and Youth Programming in the Northeast.

She now lives half the year in western Massachusetts and half of the year in Central Florida. With her wife, Dusty Miller, Dorothy has two grown and married children and four half-grown grandchildren! (Already???) She helped to start the Healing Circle Singers, "Humble Harmonies" a bedside singing group, the Central Florida Raging Grannies, and Bridges Open Mic.
