Eagles / Schroeder

A collective trio of colleagues featuring renowned musician/educators Wayne Eagles
(guitar), Dave Schroeder (bass) and Lee Fish (drums). With a focus on re-imagined material, the modern jazz group highlights interaction/interplay and a diverse range of influences.

WAYNE EAGLES is known for his unique guitar style, which incorporates diverse
influences from textural soundscapes and free jazz to old school fusion and
progressive rock. Wayne has played live and in the studio with a long list of musicians
including Ken Rosser, Rob Frayne, Ian Froman, T Bruce Wittet, Mike Milligan, Brian
Browne and Adam Nussbaum. At home in Ottawa, he is a performance instructor and
ensemble director at Carleton University. An endorsing artist for a wide-variety of
musical instrument manufacturers, Wayne has also has experience as a concert
promoter and masterclass coordinator. His recordings include trio \ DEF - Drouin/
Eagles/Froman (TetraArtist, 2015), REGALS - The Double-Duo Sessions (TetraArtist,
2011), Milligan-Eagles Project featuring Billy Kilson (TetraArtist, 2005) and How's Now?

DAVE SCHROEDER is an Ottawa-based bassist and educator, though spent many years
studying, performing and teaching in South Florida. Carleton University awarded him a
Senate Medal in 2004 upon completion of a Bachelor of Music Honours. In 2005, Dave
began graduate studies at the University of Manitoba. Switching to graduate studies at
the University of Miami in 2006, awarded a Master of Music in Jazz Performance in
2008, Dave received a full scholarship to pursue Doctoral studies, receiving a Doctor of
Musical Arts in 2011 (the only Canadian electric bassist to attain this honour). In
addition to studies at Berklee College of Music, Dave received a Downbeat Student
Music Award in 2009 for his work with the University of Miami Funk-Fusion Ensemble.
Dave currently teaches music at Carleton University, remaining active as an session
bassist and guitarist:

For drummer LEE FISH, it all started at a young age traveling with his musician parents. A highly sought after jazz drummer in the New England area, he plays with groups including the Jason Palmer Collective, Mike Tucker’s Organ Trio, the Evgeny Lebedev World Trio, Primary Colors and the Mike Thomas Group. While at Berklee, Lee was a member of Phil Wilson's Rainbow Band and Greg Hopkins' Concert Jazz Orchestra performing across the USA, Japan and Europe. Recently, he has done tours and played festivals in Russia, Europe and Canada. Lee has gigged and/or recorded with artists including Esperanza Spalding, Gary Burton, Charles McPherson, Warren Wolf, George Garzone, Hal Crook, Nir Felder, Greg Osby, David Gilmore, Julian Lage, the Kendrick Oliver New Life Jazz Orchestra, and Lawrence Fields:
