Entropia

Entropia is an experimental electronic project formed in Rome in 1996.
The band formed by the producers and composers Amptek & Dr. Lops has experienced several lineup changes over time.

Entropia has been one of the first experiences in Europe to promote the contamination between electronic dance music and other styles of music such as rock and jazz. Both in the live performances of the 1990s and in their 1998 album “Imaginary Solutions” there is a crossover between alternative rock, free jazz, italian soundtracks and folk music with electronic dance.

Entropia implemented many collaborations that generated specific projects with artists and musicians with a different backgrounds as the jazz players Michael Rosen, John B. Arnold, Nicola Alesini and Maurizio Giammarco or choreographer and painter Fabiana Yvonne Lugli.
Entropia composed in 2013 a music for ballet as “Sign of Piaf” performed during “Les Jours de France à Rome” in collaboration with the Italian Ballet National Academy and the music for the inauguration of the new Center of the “Accademia delle Belle Arti” in Campo Boario.
Entropia collaborated with “Sign of Sound” an important pictorial/dance project implemented several multidisciplinary performances in prestigious location as the “Muse theatre”, the “Cartiera Latina”, “Tolfarte” and the “Mausoleo di Cecilia Metella” with the “Ministero delle Belle Arti”.

Entropia in 2013 had the opportunity to collaborate also with Valentina Buffon an important dancer choreographers from the Italian Ballet National Academy carried out a trans medial project “Synesthesia” performed in an impressive location, the National Museum of Modern Art “Macro” in Rome with the collaboration of famous jazz players as Maurizio Giammarco and John Arnold performing a multi medial show “The Decline of Western Civilization” which had several performances in different Italian theatres.
In 2005 Entropia published and presented in Hollywood, Los Angeles “The Ultimate Eclectic Cinedelic Experience” playing in a famous location, ”the Knitting Factory”. “The Ultimate Eclectic Cinedelic Experience” was a
dismantling sounds and images project inspired from the 70s Italian cinematography .
Entropia implemented several experimentation contaminations projects between the diplophonic singing and the electronic music collaborating with Roberto Laneri (1998), Mauro Tiberi (2014) and Debora Longini (2015).

Entropia played during several important reviews in famous locations and festivals as the “Accademia Britannica” ( Rome), ((Bit:z)) 2003, Electroma 2004, Calcatronica, “Rome meet the world” , “Link” (Bologna), “Tor di Nona theatre” (Rome), “Opera Bosco Museum” (Calcata), “Civita Festival” (Civitacastellana), “Carpegna Festival” ( Villa Carpegna, Rome), “Casa del Jazz”,” Monk/La Palma (Rome)”, “Alpheus” (Rome).
