Eugene Klymko

Eugene Klymko was born and raised in Fort Frances, a small border town in northwestern Ontario whose residents primarily made their livelihood from the local paper mill and tourism associated with hunting, fishing recreational activities on beautiful Rainy Lake and the adjoining lakes and waterways. Fort Frances is the sister town to what has been billed as the coldest spot in the continental United States, International Falls, Minnesota. Born the mid 1950’s, Eugene was the youngest of 5 siblings. Schooled in this small town he did all the things that children and teenagers do. Eugene found his love of singing, music and the arts early on in the many events and activities that were fostered by the wonderful and eclectic tastes of his family. Life was full, and with relatives on both sides of the border, Thunder Bay, Cincinnati, Winnipeg, Minneapolis, and elsewhere across Canada and the U.S there were often forays that included adventurous visits to distant uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. But small vibrant towns, despite their charm, also have their limits and so Windsor and Essex County became home. School, the University of Windsor, love, family, children, real paying jobs, a life-giving career in education and … the normal things of life filled Eugene’s days most pleasantly, but doing art, writing music, playing and singing for family, friends, church, the local coffee house and open mics always brought added delight. With the help of family and good friends, 2007 brought forward the start of a dream that saw the release of a first CD, Moon At The End Of The Road. Once started, the desire to continue and release a second CD could not be denied. 2009, though busy with the events of life and work, saw the recording and release of Somethin’ Simple as well as Christmas Parade Life continues to bring inspiration and hope for future projects that will see the sharing of more original music.
