Grace Pettis

2009 Mountain Stage NewSong Winner and "Best Song" Winner!

Hello- my name is Grace. I'm 22 and I write songs.

My first album (self-titled) has just been released! (Oct. 18th, 2009) The album was recorded at Blue Rock Studios in Wimberley, TX, under "Blue Rock Artists" and produced by Billy Crockett.

Rather than talk about myself, here's some quotes from people you might know:

"Of course I'm biased, but Grace is really, really good --and I hate that. Because as her dad, I'd much prefer that she got a real job . . ."
-Pierce Pettis

"Grace Pettis is definitely an artist to keep an eye and an ear on. She's taking on big ideas, and hewing them into well-crafted lyrics. There are graceful turns of phrase which sometimes remind me that she grew up under a roof that sheltered more than one great writer, but her voice is her own, as a writer as well as a singer."
-David LaMott

"There is a wisdom in Grace's observations about life that makes her music go right to the heart. She sings and shares so honestly that it is inevitable listeners will hear themselves in her songs."
-Jill Phillips

"Grace Pettis is wholeheartedly dedicated to using her myriad talents to heal, and to bridge the distance between that sacred and the every day, making every song a prayer and making every moment holy."
-Joe Jencks

"Grace Pettis is as promising an artist as I've heard in a long time. She's got the heart, art, soul and looks to touch a lot of people with her music."
-Tom Kimmel

I'm new at this, but I've picked up a little recognition already from these songwriting competitions:

Mountain Stage NewSong Winner, and "Best Song" Winner 2009

Kerrville Regional Finalist (New Folk) 2008,

Bugle Boy Sunday Showcase Semi-Finalist 2009,

Songwriters Serenade Semi-Finalist 2009

As I mentioned before, my first album (self-titled) will be coming out this October.

Some of the musicians who helped include: Billy Crockett, Colin Brooks (of Band of Heathens), Chris Maresh, Rick Richards, Dirje Smith, Dave Madden, and Gina Chavez, to name a few.

I'm putting together some GREAT press kits. If you'd like one, you can email me at with a name and mailing address.

I'll be seeing you...
