Hanna Tiferet

Rabbi Hanna Tiferet Siegel - Singer/Songwriter, Liturgical Artist, Spiritual Guide

Hanna Tiferet is a poet and a mystic through whom song and inspiration flow. She weaves together prayerful melodies and thoughtful teachings in a tapestry of love and kindness. Hanna has been planting the seeds of Jewish Renewal since the late 1960′s through new music, liturgical innovation, and attunement to Mother Earth and the Divine Feminine.

Hanna has recorded eight albums of healing and heart-centered music.

She has travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada leading workshops and as an artist in residence. A creative liturgist, Hanna has been blessed with the gift of writing new melodies for ancient Hebrew prayers. Her music is sung around the world in synagogues, havurot, homes, and spiritual gatherings.

In 1982, Hanna Tiferet was the first woman to be blessed with the title of "Eshet Hazon v'Miyaledet Neshama - Woman of Vision and Midwife of the Soul." She was ordained as a Rabbinic Pastor in 1992 and a Rabbi in 2003 by Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and a circle of rabbinic colleagues. She earned a Masters of Jewish Studies degree at Boston's Hebrew College. With her life partner, Rabbi Daniel Siegel, she co-founded Congregation Or Shalom in Vancouver, British Columbia. She currently serves as the rabbi of B'nai Or of Boston, as a Mashpia'ah Ruchanit on the ALEPH Mashpiah Faculty, and as a Baba to two precious granddaughters.
