The rich culture and history of his birthplace have been a major influence on his writing style and it is highly glorified in each lyric. His subject matter is a perfect gumbo of the heritage, parties, politics, blue collar life style, and the everyday struggles of an American citizen raised in the deep south. Although he writes a lot of songs that are reality based, Higgnz always finds a way to uplift spirits with good vibes and something to dance to.
Although Higgnz newest album, Brackish, is first major digital project, he is no beginner to his craft. He has performed as a solo artist for the entire millennium while also joining many group projects such as, KawCajun, C.P.C. (Cross Parish Connect), and Sol Trybe. His live performance resume’ list a large portion of the many venues across the Louisiana region.
Today, the South has taken Hip Hop in with it’s genuine hospitality and decorated it into multi- sub genres. Higgnz has always predicted him self on always being versatile emcee. He can collaborate with any artist he has the pleasure of working with. With the southerners’ roots being imbedded in the underground Hip Hop scene, predominately hardcore, he continues to remain true to his out spoken style. At the same, being able to exploit an honest level of maturity that no one cannot put a price on.

“Music is about freedom of expression with no strings attached. An artist should decorate his emotions in whatever he or she pleases and let the chips fall where they may. A song is nothing more than an idea from the current state of mind of an individual. As long as the lyrics and notes are spoken from the heart, there will always be someone who can relate to it.”
