Southern soul artist, Hisyde, has built a loyal grassroots following for his music that mixes R&B traditions with modern-day Blues, Hip-hop accents and gospel. Hisyde was born Sernerick Greer in Strong, Arkansas on September 3, 1979. From a young age, Greer had a keen ear for music, and soaked up the influences of Old school Blues, funk, and R&B artists ranging from Prince, Teddy Pendergrass, and Al Green to Marvin Gaye, Keith Sweat, and Tyrone Davis. When he was 16 years old, Greer picked up a would rap and sing, beat box among cousins and friends, and discovered he could easily had an ear for music. Before long, Greer was also mixing, and recording music, producing, and promoting a local group and by the time he was 19, he had already been recruited to sing in the community concert choir. Music became the dominant force in Greer's life, as he juggled manufacturing work, gigs and studio sessions with his local group, church choir, and local promotion. After a painful divorce, Greer began writing more songs, and digging deeper into his spiritual life, he began singing his own gospel songs at churches throughout south Arkansas ans north Louisiana. . Greer began looking for a record contract, but his inexperience in the music business kept him on the sidelines and back to promoting, writing, and engineering for other artist. Greer began to produce his own music and was featured on local radio stations throughout Arkansas and Louisiana for a short stint. Greer moved to Texas in 2009 to pursue music, and had a production contract with famed super producer, Flaco Da Great. That was short lived after relocation of the producer, but opened up numerous doors. As an sound engineer, Greer linked up with Artist Boot Camp in Arlington,Texas where where he was under the mentor-ship of the great drummer, Rod McDonald & Chief engineer Brad Cox. Greer honed his skills as an artist and student of the business side of the music industry.
