Island Bound

Island Bound

It all began in the Spring of 2006 while we ended our outrigger canoe practices at Steele Lake in Federal Way, WA we picked up our ukulele’s and strummed and sang some of our favorite songs until it was time to leave for home. We started to get a bit more serious and practiced with Uncle Edgar Paranada of Café Hawaii in Tacoma, WA. After he closed his restaurant doors for the night, we used to play there for hours having good fun but gaining experience at the same time.

Island Bound made their first appearance at Kikaha O’ Ke Kai’s fundraiser called ‘Ohana Nights at the Holiday Inn Hotel in SeaTac, WA thanks to Uncle Boy Chun Fook we also obtained gigs like performing at Lokahi’s Ho’o lau lea. We then maintained a steady gig every Friday nights at Pac Island Grill in Federal Way, WA. These live exposures and also creating our MySpace account opened a whole new world for us.

We are a band that continues to grow in the Reggae scene, keeping in mind to perpetuate our Hawaiian roots and culture. We are a band of six who live in the Pacific Northwest. Listed below is the name of our band members along with some of their sweet inspirations and what they bring to Island Bound:
