In the spring of 2008, an old minor hockey team mate Jordan Hoffart sent Jayme an email about a songwriting contest. Well, Knyx just had his song chosen to be recorded for the up coming documentary movie dedicated to the memory of Tammy Ellis. To learn more about the movie, and the story that aired on CTV's W-five visit

This past summer Jayme helped put together and will be performing a benefit music festival called Peacefest which raised over $50,000 to use for the brand new Performing Arts Centre in Dawson Creek, B.C. This concert was limited to 5000 people and one lucky person was given the choice of $25,000 cash or a new car! Knyx is a firm believer in giving back and volunteering at various charitable fundraisers. One benefit concert helped a local woman raise enough money get life saving surgery for her Multiple Sclerosis. In Jayme's spare time he enjoys spending it entertaining the seniors and chronically ill at local care homes.

Family has always been the cornerstone and driving force behind Jayme's music. His number one support system over the years has been his parents. Jayme Knyx fell in love with country music at an early age. But sparking the dream was country legend George Strait. When Knyx was only six years old his mother gave him his first guitar. His family has had a heavy influence on his music. From his Grandpa Bob, who played and sang for the Country Playboy's. To his mother, who sang for many years in the Kelowna night club scene.

Throughout the early years Jayme loved to sing along side classmates in the school choir. His music teacher Robin Jarman said, "Knyx always had an ear for music." Knyx also enjoyed playing in a brass band for few years. His instrument of choice was the "grand daddy" tuba. Knyx recalls not even being able to see because of its massive size. "Gosh, that thing was heavy." When he was 15 years old his mother dared him to enter a singing contest it became apparent Knyx loved to sing. After winning many singing contests, Knyx decided to pursue a musical career. For the past couple years Knyx has started to embark on his true passion which is songwriting and creating music.

Knyx never gives less than a hundred percent, and it's that kind of dedicated work ethic combined with blood, sweat, and tears that make it. “It’s not talent that makes it in this business," says Knyx. “It’s exercised perfection, with a hint of obsession."
