Jeff Saxon

Jeff describes his eclectic and broadly-appealing musical style, "blujanova"; a merging of blues, jazz and bossa nova. This unique musical amalgam really shines with Jeff's bluesy, ebullient vocals and his nnovative arrangements of tunes seemingly devoid of jazz or Latin influences, such as "Hound Dog", "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "Riders On The Storm". All the songs on Jeff's forthcoming CD, "Blujanova", follow this novel blueprint.

The style also lends itself perfectly to Saxon's soothing and emotive vocals. IAE Magazine (I Am Entertainment), in reviewing Jeff's previous "Truthteller" CD, wrote that Saxon possessed “a great voice” and a reviewer at Minor 7th took it even further by calling it "a voice that is utterly disarming...”. And as a guitarist, Jeff has an expansive "jazz-centric "chordal palette, eschewing flashiness in favor of beautifully textural and soulful playing.

As a songwriter and composer, Jeff is known for his memorable melodies, sublime and sophisticated chord changes and intelligently crafted lyrics. His compositions have earned him over 40 awards from various national and international songwriting contests as well as heard in nationally syndicated TV shows, in films and releases by other artists.

Jeff is a NJ native, but lived and performed in Los Angeles for many years, where he worked in the studio or shared stages with well-known jazz and pop artists such as Dave Koz, Norman Brown, John Daversa, and jazz/fusion group, Hiroshima.

Jeff has performed at numerous music festivals on both coasts and his musical talents have drawn praise from a diverse list of public figures, including Quincy Jones and former President Clinton. Jeff has appeared at several film and music festivals, including the 2012 World Music And Independent Film Festival in Washington, D.C., The Telluride Blues and Brews Festival and the 2011 Philadelphia Music and Film Festival.

Jeff has released 3 singer/songwriter CD's: “Me, Myself, and I” ,“The Spin” , and “Truthteller” and will release his 4th album, Blujanova, in July, 2013
