The album was showcased on Jazz FM with James Torme featuring her as one of his "hidden treasures".
Sean Hargreaves wrote the arrangements and played piano on the album has worked with a number of major Uk artists including Natalie Imbruglia, US3 and Alison Moyet. Sean
tells us not to be misled by the title: “Jenny's album goes much deeper than just love songs, and reflects her versatility as a performer”.
A recent review of the album written by songwriter Jon Philibert says of it as a musically tight, sophisticated and supremely confident sounding piece of work, It is hard to believe it is Jenny Green’s debut album.
Her well-chosen choice of musicians comprise Sean Hargreaves on keys, Neville Malcolm bass, Winston Clifford on drums augmented by Bryan Corbett (Trumpet, Flugelhorn), Ed Jones (Tenor, Alto, and Baritone Saxes) Trevor Miers (Trombone) adding a brassy sharpness on several selections.
Jenny draws her Inspiration from her love of the Great American standards which led her to work in venue's across the London and Surrey area's.
In her earlier years she fulfilled her love of harmony singing and achieved National and International success representing the UK in the A Cappella world with her quartet Sounds familiar. Gaining two coveted championship medals her quartet travelled America and Europe appearing on major venues these have included; The Palace theatre, Columbus Ohio, The Hall of Music Kansas City, The Killarney Park Hotel Killarney Ireland, The Eriksdalshalle Concert Hall Stockholm, The Opera House, Blackpool, & The Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
They went on to record a successful CD produced by Derek Nash & Tony Philpot at the Clown Pocket Studios.
All of this is a far cry from her early years. Based then in the Brighton area she performed regularly in the many Hotel bars and clubs all along the south coast.
