Jo Davidson

Jo Davidson, a prolific New York City and Asbury Park, NJ based composer, pianist, producer, singer and recording artist has consistently excelled in multiple genres including classical, pop and rock. Jo's new album PIANO STORIES features 16 of her solo piano compositions which blend cinematic film score themes with classical musical landscapes. The music brims with intimacy and imagination. Franz Mohr, Master Steinway tuner for Horowitz, Gould, Rubenstein and others commented, "Beautiful! What a touch you have Jo! The piano sings under your fingers!" Jo grew up in Ohio, began playing the piano at age 4, and discovered from an early age that she was a songwriter destined for a creative life. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her songwriting career, signing publishing and records deals. It was at this point that Jo brought in the help and talents of her co-producer and engineer, Greg Ladanyi (Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Fleetwood Mac). After signing a record deal with Edel Records. Jo wrote and arranged all of the songs for her debut album "KISS ME THERE," She played the piano & keyboard tracks and recorded many of the guitar tracks. String arranger David Campbell (Alanis Morissette, The Goo Goo Dolls) contributed his talents with string arrangements for Jo's two songs "Secrets" and "Tonite."

"Kiss Me There" was released in 2001 and was played on top pop and adult contemporary radio stations around the U.S. Her song "Kiss Me There" was featured on an Oprah compilation CD along with Eric Clapton, Enya, Bette Midler and others. "Kiss Me There" was a top 20 Modern AC hit on radio and received nationwide airplay with adds in markets such as Boston, Tampa, Cleveland and St. Louis. During this time, Jo performed at radio shows and festivals along with artists such as Nelly Furtado, Alana Davis, Better than Ezra, and others artists.

Jo's music has been featured in film and television such as Felicity, Friends "Til the End, All My Children, General Hospital and Days of Our Lives. Her songs have been heard in movies featuring Jennifer Aniston, Patrick Swayze, Melanie Griffith, Ashley Tisdale, Shannon Doherty and others. Jo has also had her songs recorded by Meat Loaf, Stephanie Mills, Melissa Manchester and featured on soundtracks, including a score by Henry Mancini.

As well as being a composer, musician and writer, Jo is the creator and host of Zentertainment Talk Radio where she has interviewed NY TIMES best selling authors, healers and doctors including Norman Doidge, Rick Hanson, Ashok Gupta, Lisa Wimberger, Caroline Myss, Alison Levine, Larry Dossey, Martha Beck, Candace Pert, Bruce Lipton, Immaculee Ilibagiza, Iyanla Vanzent and others. Jo has studied a wide range of alternative and complimentary medicine fields from vegan diets to paleo, herbal medicine and Young Living essential oils, protocols to treat lyme, CFS, supplements, oxygen therapies, mind body medicine and more. Jo chose to do her photo shoot for PIANO STORIES at the home that belonged to her Quaker grandparents in Bucks County, PA in the late 1700s. She is a passionate researcher of ancestry, exploring family roots to discover her relationship to many leaders in early American history and politics, including signers of the Declaration of Independence, an aunt who died in the Salem witch trials and ancestors who helped slaves escape through their homes on the underground railroad.
