Soy Cowboy SHADOW BOX STUDIO Joe Romersa Sell your music everywhere

Joe Romersa

Joe Romersa is best known amongst his peers as a skilled drummer. He has both toured and worked as a session player. His unique drumming style goes beyond the driving backbeat that is the soul of music. His drumming transcends the expectations of the listener, delivering an artful mix of rhythm and harmony within the beat. His versatile style has found him drumming for industry greats including John Prine, Carlene Carter, Marc Tanner, Howie Epstein and at a private session with Bob Dylan.

Joe’s baritone voice was “discovered” in the early 1990’s when he would become the front man for Soy Cowboy. At once beautiful and haunting, Joe’s voice is expressive, rich in tone and timber, occasionally rough around the edges. The lyrics he sings become meaningful and relatable, whether he sings of love or loss or the ills of society. His voice connects deep within the listener.

An artist that sculpts in sound, Joe’s songwriting talents round out his contribution to the music community. He writes of things that matter most to him, his lyrics expressive and evocative. His overarching message is one of love. Love each other. Love this planet we all share. Love ourselves.

Joe is better known to his fans as a talented songwriter with lyrics that reach in and touch your soul. He has co-written on a number of projects with an array of artists over the years. Joe has released many of these songs in his Past Master's collection.

His first solo album effort is Audio Monkey released in 2011 and is a compilation of songs co-written and composed with former Meat Sandwich bandmates Rob Carmichael and Mark Tabbert.

The 2017 release of Enough is both written and produced by Joe's andis his debut concept album. Through his lyrics, Joe examines contemporary society; religion, politics, and love. As Joe recently shared with his fans, “To me, the best lyrics are those that are true to one’s personal experiences and observations.” He touches on the shared disillusionment with our elected officials. He expresses our frustration of wading through information and trying to know what is real and what is fake. He challenges us to consider the true power of love.
