John Kadlecik

John Kadlecik first broke out of the the Chicagoland bar scene in the band Hairball Willie, touring regionally in the midwest from 1991-1996 as well as releasing three all-original recordings. In 1997, however, John became known as the founding lead guitarist & singer of the Grateful Dead tribute act, Dark Star Orchestra, which rapidly entered the national touring circuit.

Concurrent to touring with DSO, John formed a group in 2003 with Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), Greg Anton (Zero), Jeff Pevar (CPR, CSN), & Kevin Rosen (DSO), called The Mix. The Mix was signed to Rainman Records, and released a full-length studio recording called American Spring.

In 2009, John was asked to join the band Furthur, a four-year collaboration between Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Bob Weir, with whom he played such celebrated stages as Red Rocks, the L.A. Greek Theatre, and Madison Square Garden.

Currently, John tours nationally and internationally with several bands (Golden Gate Wingmen/Fellowship of the Wing, Oteil Burbridge & Friends, Everyone Orchestra) as well as solo, one-man performances, and has plans to release a new full length solo album in the Fall of 2018.
