John MacLean

John MacLean is inspired by Cliff Eberhardtl, Kate Campbell, Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Springsteen, and the memory of his mother singing along with her AM car radio. When he heard the great Texan George Brown sing Pancho and Lefty, John had to learn how to play; George taught him. Other seminal influences include The Bank Street Band - Baltimore's finest! - Dick Pleasants, and Seth Connelly. John is a long way from his Baltimore hometown but "Letters Home" starts there and "Quiet Fire" continues the journey.
