Jonathan Moody

A household name in the SW Michigan theatre circuit, Jonathan Moody is also a dynamic solo artist on the electric bass. Unlike many solo bassists, Jon's compositions are rooted firmly in his classical and jazz backgrounds, while still blending rock and funk into the mix. And, when supported with a drummer in a duo setting, the dynamic range and intensity is augmented.

2016 saw the release of “Music for our Hands,” a 7-song EP that highlighted the compositional skills and technical foundation that has made Jon one of the most in-demand musicians in the SW Michigan - and outlying - areas. Released in June, the album was called "...a perfect compliment to the joy of living and the beautiful wonders around us" by Bass Musician Magazine. Performances at the LoHIO Bass Showcase in July as well as the annual Bass Player LIVE! in Los Angeles, CA only confirmed this as well. In addition, Jon's music has also been featured in online radio segments (the NPR Local Affiliate, as well as 93.3's Out of the Bassment, hosted by Keiko Gutierrez) as well as video segments for Bass Musician Magazine and Tsunami Cables.

2018 saw a number of solo performances but also welcomed the release of "A Little Insomnia," a 4-song EP follow-up that took Jon's compositions to a newer dimension with the addition of Jeff Link on drums.
