Before my first memories, music moved me. Faint strains of Bach, Beethoven, Ella, and Goodman were my lullabies. As an eight year old, going to hear Arthur Rubinstein was inspiring. Fascination with complex rhythms was challenging during my classical piano years. Coltrane’s music blasted open the spiritual depths of jazz for the teenager. Introduction to the mysteries of free improvisation, along with Ewe, Akan and Mandingo polyrhythms energized me. And then the harp, which had called to me as a child, came to me, was given to me, and opened up an amazing journey.

Curiosity may have killed the proverbial cat, but it has always been a good strategy to uncover that which has been hidden. Reaching beyond polite borders of family expectations, the beauty and blessings of the Great Mystery and the Goddess, which were absent in childhood, became the circle of Wisdom music in adulthood.
