Jumbo Aniebiet

Jumbo Aniebiet - songwriter, composer, and producer who currently resides in Laurel, Maryland. Born in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, he started music very early in his life. Music would only be a natural inclination for Jumbo. His father, Elijah jumbo, was a great music writer. He taught me how to play the harmonica at age 6. Yet Jumbo didn't take music any seriously and like every kid in his neighborhood, he wanted to attend a university and become an engineer, doctor or a lawyer. It was when he lost my mother that I turned to music. “Music became the succor that I needed”, he would say. Music gave Jumbo me an avenue deal with his loss. “This is why music is such an intricate part of my life” he would add.

Having collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists like South Africa’s Huge Masakela, al-Jarue, Steve Rhodes, Yinka Davis, Jumbo finally step into the music scene as a solo artist with his much anticipated debut album title “Brand New Day”. Brand New Day is a fusion of Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Gospel. The album is a rendition of heart-felt passion that will connect with listeners instantly. He borrows from his uncertain yet humble childhood laced with distant dreams and hopes of a better day as he renders “Love Can Change the World”. He is uplifting in “Brand New Day” - a song that allows one to reach for a new beginning. Wait until you hear his musical genius in Ija Were.

Jumbo is well loved by his fans and fellow musicians. His talent is rare, and his music is pure pleasure for a listener. He often speaks of expressing his inner felt emotions through his trumpet. His musical eloquence combined can easily be felt through his rhythm. His ear for the slightest detail is beyond ordinary. There is no doubt that he is ready to take the music world by storm. “Music ascends me to a place where my soul touches God’s love and design for me. With my trumpet I feel I could touch my mother’s presence. Though she was gone long before I could show her what I’ve become, my music keeps me close to her. Music is something spiritual. It allows me to channeled all my joy and pain; my regrets , disappointments and hope.” -Jumbo Aniebiet
