Kevin Campbell

Kevin Campbell's writing spans many musical genres.
Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, Kevin
was influenced by virtually every type of music.

Starting on Recorder and Saxophone in the 4th and 5th grades, Kevin took up Bass in Junior High along with Guitar in High School.

In the years to follow, Kevin concentrated on live production work as both an engineer and producer.

In his spare time he still worked on crafting his
own songwriting skills.....

"It made me realize that exposure to various types
of styles, was essential to growing as a musician.
I was very fortunate to be able to work with some
incredible musicians over the years.

"I could never say my job was boring! I hate monotony and I hate writing songs for just one specific genre. I like to keep things interesting"

That may also be the basis for HIS live show.

During a recent set we see him switching between electric and acoustic guitars, various keyboards and percussion. Wearing a headset mic for mobility, he was playing along with a live drummer, and tracks streaming off a Mac.

Kevin released his first commercial CD "Out There"
in 2005. " I had recorded 3 CD's prior to Out There
but they were more or less demo quality.
I was pretty much just knocking around trying to develop
my songwriting."

With the release of his second commercially available
CD, "BRICK", Campbell displays an even greater depth.

"I wanted to get one more CD on the market, and then concentrate on playing live again. I've got a nice little setup going now where I can sync up
Ableton Live, have a live drummer, and switch between
instruments."
