Kevin Jarvis

Kevin was born and raised in the area of Sumter, SC. He grew up hearing a wide varitey of music from country to classical, from church hymns to hard rock. Early favorites included John Denver, The Alan Parsons Project, and Johann Sebastian Bach. A little later, everything changed when he discovered the world of progressive rock. The music of Yes, Kansas, Pink Floyd, ELP, King Crimson and more became the catalyst that drove him to no longer be content to just listen to music...he felt on overwhelming desire to create it. Through the 1990s Kevin worked at learning guitar, bass, keyboards, and mandolin, all the while searching for like-minded musicians to work with.

Over the years Kevin has been a founding member of several bands, including progressive/art-rockers Farpoint, prog rock supergroup Greyfeather, folk-rock duo Wateree, rock cover band Iron Soul, and pop/rock cover band Neon Candy, He has also performed in several stage musicals, including Little Shop of Horrors and Godspell. More recently he has joined local praise and worship band First Glimpse, as well as forming folk rock duos October Layne and From the Morning. He has also played in a few church praise bands, and is currently the band leader at First Church of God in Sumter, SC.
