Kristin Rebecca

Kristin Rebecca is a captivating performer who combines her powerful, angelic voice, unique guitar rhythms and rare harp ability into a show unlike any other. No two of her songs sound alike and no topic is off limits. The inspiration for her lyrics comes from her life and the lives of those around her. Kristin doesn’t use the harp as a gimmick; she showcases the versatility of the instrument.

Kristin’s musical career began in her early teens. After watching her church’s youth band, she was drawn to performance and started taking guitar lessons. Shortly after starting her lessons she joined the very band that inspired her to go into music.

Kristin’s musical interests continued to grow and within a few years she started playing the lever harp and studying voice. Throughout her middle school, high school and college life she was a member of different bands as either a guitarist or vocalist. Kristin also garnered many awards for her harp playing. Knowing that she wanted to perform for a living, Kristin became a music major in college and in May of 2011 graduated, with honors, with a degree in Vocal Performance.

Combining voice, harp, guitar, and songwriting, Kristin has developed her original performance style and sound. Kristin successfully launched her solo career as a Modern Folk artist while she was in college. She combines the timeless nature of the folk genre with the modern feel of today’s music. She has written, composed and/or arranged all of the songs she performs. Over the years she has also had the pleasure of opening for national and regional touring artists.

In 2011 Kristin released her first album, “Fringe,” an EP that featured six of her original songs. This album gave a taste of Kristin's modern folk sound. After taking a trip to Ireland in 2013, Kristin was inspired by the folklore of the country and went back to her Celtic harp roots on her second album “Where Fairies Dwell.” While recording a mostly traditional Celtic harp CD, Kristin kept her signature sound and included several original pieces, including the title track. "Where Fairies Dwell" was nominated for a 2015 WAMMIE in the Best Traditional Folk Recording category. Kristin is currently recording her first full-length modern folk album, "Tales, Trials, Truths", of original modern folk songs. The album's name comes from each song telling a story about Kristin's life or the life of someone she knows. "Tales, Trials, Truths" will be released on October 13th, 2017. Since 2011 has toured across the country delighting audiences both returning and new.
