His father, a talented amateur harmonica player influnced by Borrah Minnevitch met in Rio brazilian harmonica player, composer and Bossa Nova co-founder Mauricio Einhorn, learning from his studiosessions. An important fact to share his experience with his son in the following years.

After Lars got in a heavily armed Bank robbery with his mother, the family decided 1984 to return to Switzerland. After 7 years of playing the piano, Rüetschi discovered the guitar with 14 years and brought his influence in his guitarplaying, combining expressive phrasing with pianistic voicings and creating his own style.

With 15 Lars bought a 4 Track Recorder, recording and arranging his own compositions having already his first professional studio job as a session player for a single recording when he was 17.

After playing at sessions he got fastly involved in the scene and toured through Berlin clubs with nigerian singer Leon Adonri and his Band The Peacekeeper & The Purple Egg, recommended as one of the most progressive and powerful Bands in Berlin,[3] playing a symbiosis of Reggae, Funk and Rock.

In the same year Rüetschi returned for a few weeks to Switzerland to co-write and record for the Lindale Project,[4] playing with grammy awarded american saxophone player Donny McCaslin and jazzpianist Mark Soskin.

The band was launched by successful producer Peter Hubert - singer of the band UKW, and producer of projects as Sash! - singles: 1997:Encore Une Fois / 1997: Ecuador (gold and platinum) feat. Rodriguez.
