Lauren Christine

Inspired by Southern family roots and an upbringing in rural Warren County, New Jersey, singer-songwriter Lauren Christine has always been drawn to country music and its honest, grassroots message of hometowns and heartbreaks. From a young age, Lauren was influenced by 1950s and 1960s country and rock, particularly the music of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, as well as classic rock of the 70s and 80s. Her elementary school years were influenced musically by the rise of a new generation of women in country music, when the careers of stars like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Taylor Swift took off. Throughout high school, the voices of Underwood, Lambert, and Swift provided the soundtrack for Lauren’s teenage years and inspired her to start singing publicly in her church and high school choirs. Through participation in cabaret-style performances, choral concerts, jazz ensemble, and musical theater productions, Lauren quickly developed a hunger for the infectious energy of the stage. After graduating from high school, Lauren decided to pursue a classical vocal training at Mason Gross School of the Arts to improve her vocal technique and explore other genres of vocal music. With college came new experiences, not only academically and musically, but also socially, and Lauren discovered songwriting as an outlet of expression for both the joy and heartbreak these new experiences and relationships brought with them. Two months after her college graduation, Lauren packed up her truck and moved to Nashville, TN with little more than her belongings, enough money saved up to pay rent, and a dream of becoming a country singer. Since being in Nashville, she's had the opportunity to play open mics, attend writer's rounds, and co-write with other Nashville songwriters. By drawing on her own personal experiences and infusing her music with authentic emotions, she hopes to connect on a personal level with her audience and demonstrate the power of music as a universal language.
