Laurie Dapice

Laurie Dapice hails from the small town of
Utica in Central NY. She has always known she wanted to be a singer. She followed her dreams & relocated to Manhattan to peruse those dreams. She is an Alumni of the New School University of Jazz & Contemporary Music with
a Bachelors degree in Performance & Music. Laurie has traveled abroad as a Headliner in Japan for a month long performance. She has opened for legendary Jazz Trombonist Benny Powell, performed with Jazz Saxophonist Billy Harper & she has most recently performed with Wynton Marsalis & the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in the Chautauqua Jazz Festival. Laurie was selected by Jazz Presenter Mark Morganelli to perform & open the Hudson River Amphitheater for a month long celebration for Ella Fitzgerald. The concert was said to be "A Great night in Jazz" by Ted Burkowitz. This past Summer Laurie was asked to perform in her hometowns annual Summer Levitt AMP Music Series in which she curated a Concert & performed in the astounding Landmark Museum Munson Williams Proctor Art Institutes 300 seat Theater that was sold out. After returning from Japan, Laurie took on the task to record her debut CD. She planned, arranged & produced the CD from conception to fruition by herself. Her debut CD "Parting the Veil" was chosen as one of the "Best Jazz Cds" of 2016 by three Jazz Critics in the Jazz Journalist Association in 5 categories ranging from Notable CDs, Best Jazz CD & Best Jazz Vocalist. It is still airing on roatation here in the U.S. & abroad.She recorded a few favorite Jazz Singers & Composers like Nina Simone-Abbey Lincoln, Johnny Mercer,
Gigi Gryce, Cole Porter, Jon Hendricks, Lionel Hampton, a Negro Spiritual & 2 Original Compositions she composed & wrote Lyrics too titled Winter Waltz & Goodbye Summer. Sheila Anderson who wrote the Liner notes who is a Host from Jazz Radio Statio WBGO said "Laurie's as a singer songwriter is reminisent of Carmen McCrae-Esperando Spaulding & Rene Marie".
Alan Silverman who has Mastered albums
from some of the greatest artists in the history of music like Bob Marley & Diane Schuur said Laurie's CD was "One of the Best Cds that has come in here & your Originals hold there own up against these old Classics". She is planning on recording another CD..
