Lazleitt is an American progressive rock project conceived by Alex Lazcano: a Washington, DC-based musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist. Alex started playing guitar and learning music theory, harmony & orchestration at an early age. Early compositions include a number of orchestral symphonies, suites, string quartets, cantatas, and an opera called "The Miser", based on Moliere's play of the same name. Outside the Classical Music realm, Alex is a progressive rock musician. He was a founding member and guitarist of the now defunct Progressive Rock band 'The Oracle', later 'Spent' in Naples, Florida from late 2004 through late 2009. Alex has also done studio session work with artists across different genres.

After a short hiatus, Alex created "Lazleitt", a Progressive Rock project with percussionist Jorge Cortes Cuyas. Lazleitt's concept album, titled "On The Brink", was released on August 31, 2018 to great reviews, and a strong following in the progressive rock realm. "On The Brink" is meant to be played as one single piece, divided in thirteen movements. It was mixed and mastered by super-talented multi-instrumentalist Eric Gillette (The Neal Morse Band, Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress, and solo artist), who also appears as a guest lead guitarist.

Shortly after the release of "On The Brink" and having sold out the first CD pressing in only six weeks (on its third pressing as of July 2019), Alex started recording what would become Lazleitt's sophomore album "Perpetually Under Idle Grounds" (release date: July 26, 2019). Due to other musical commitments, Cuyas could not play on the album. Eric Gillette - who is also an accomplished drummer - sat behind the drum kit. After listening to progressive rock outfit, Dark Beauty, Alex asked their singer, Liz Tapia, to contribute lead and harmony vocals to the album. The line-up for this album was rounded out with David Knowles (from Liverpool-based progressive rock outfit The Swan Chorus) on keyboards, Carlos Hernandez (from The Tree Of Life Project) on lead guitar, and once again, Eric Gillette also on lead guitar.
