Lee Jackson

Lee Jackson was born in the early 60s in Austin, Texas. He wanted to take Spanish in Junior High School, but his parents forced him to take Band instead, unwittingly unleashing a holy terror upon the musical world.

It would be easier to list what Jackson can't play than what he can. As long as it's not a stringed instrument, he can get some kind of musical noise to come out of it. Maybe not for long, but nevertheless.

His styles are as diverse as his inspirations, ranging from polka to full orchestral classical to heavy metal to drum & bugle corps. He is eligible to vote in several different genres in the Grammy selection process, having been a voting member for over 20 years now.

Jackson has been a MIDI composer since he got his first copy of Cakewalk for Windows in 1993. He writes using the piano roll interface, occasionally switching over to the event list editor for finer control over playback. His primary MIDI instrument, the mighty Roland SC-88Pro, can be heard all the way from the Duke Nukem 3D Soundtrack (in SC-88 form) to his debut solo album, "Calibrations."
