Leigh Herrick

Leigh Herrick is an award-winning, Pushcart-nominated poet and writer. She is trained in comparative lit and has degrees in English and French. She is a State Arts Board grantee for poetry, and has had residency fellowships at Vermont Studio Center and the Anderson Center. Her poetry volumes are (forthcoming) *Big-Shit Shoddies!,* *Home Front: Poems of the Bush II Years,* and *Without, Haiku*.

Herrick is also a recording artist who trained for 12 years in traditional hand drumming. In her twenties she studied classical guitar. Her musical interest expresses itself in the exploration of the rhythmic as applied to her poetry. Herrick uses her drum and guitar training to create avant-garde works, and to b[l]end word and sound in a variety of musical styles. She is currently at work on a third CD and has begun releasing its single tracks.
