Leruz La Rose

R&B, Hip-Hop Soul singer-songwriter LeRuz La Rose was born in Los Angeles, California raised in The South Bronx. LeRuz has multiple talents but has a strong passion for music which lead her to write poems at the age of 12 years then adding melodies creating music. As a child LeRuz grew up listening to Motown classics thanks to her father. She was heavily influenced by The Supremes, The Emotions, The Temptations, The O’ Jays, Ottis Redding and many different cultural music. LeRuz La Rose credits Ottis Redding’s music for inspiring her to pursue a music career thanks to his soulful vocals and great storytelling. Ms. La Rose starting singing professionally after enrolling in the prestigious USDAN Camp and becoming an Opera singer. Ms. La Rose entered the world of musical theatre by when joining Rosetta LeNiore’s Amas Musical Theatre Academy. La Rose had the honor of being in three Amas Musical Theatre productions. She starred as the seductress Sonia on “Godspell,” the fast talking Rusty on “Footloose,” and Ms. Turnstile for June Ivy Smith on “On The Town.” Shortly after musical theatre in 2005 LeRuz La Rose joined a singing group called ‘Bittar Sweet’ where they performed in many venues across New York City. After being in a singing group LeRuz decided to become a solo artist and so she signed to B-Boy Records/ Boogie Down Productions in 2007 for the re-launch of the legendary Hip-Hop Record Label. Learning from great musicians and teachers helped LeRuz La Rose grow and understand herself as an artist. LeRuz La Rose decided to take a break from the world of entertainment and go back to school. During La Rose break she taught herself how to play the piano and she did a lot of vocal freestyling which helped her find her unique sound. In 2011 LeRuz returned to the music scene as an independent artist she sang Christmas cover songs as well as classic cover songs such as Minnie Riperton’s classic song “Loving You” in a cappella and a duet reggae version of Richard Marx’s “Right Here Waiting” with recording artist Damion Anthony and received recognition as an a cappella vocalist in the Hispanic community in New York City. In 2015-2016 LeRuz La Rose single ‘The Way I Feel’ received airplay on Diversified Radio, The Bomb Baby Radio Show, Shooting The Breeze Radio Show on and Heavy Rotation Mixshow By DJ Mike Styles on March 2016 LeRuz won the award for ‘Best Female R&B Artist Of The Year’ for the 1st Annual Bronx Unsigned Artist Award Show. LeRuz La Rose is also in the August/ September 2016 issue of Independent Artist Magazine and 1212 Magazine .Currently LeRuz La Rose on tour stay tuned for more updates.
