Lisa Jones Bromfield

Lisa Jones Bromfield began her recording career as lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for The Cause, a roots rock group she formed with Bill Bromfield in 1990. She and Bill also released a mostly acoustic album of original songs in 1996 called "Earth" which has been reissued and is now available here on CD Baby. While continuing to write and perform music, she trained and worked as a special education teacher, and later as an emergency room nurse.

During her study of Anatomy and Physiology she began writing songs to help her and fellow students learn and memorize difficult course material. She got such rave responses that she was urged by some of her professors to write more songs and make them available to students. This led to the release of the CD "Groovin' in the Hippocampus: Songs to Learn Anatomy and Physiology by" in the spring of 2008. The CD was presented at the national conference of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society in May of 2008 which led to wide national acclaim.

In her explanation of how the CD helps anatomy and physiology students, Lisa said, "As a special education teacher I noticed that the same students who had great difficulty remembering facts for tests could recite complete lyrics to any song by their favorite artist. As a nursing student I saw a need to bring the power of music to the study of A&P. And I'm having a lot of fun at it."

She has more songs in the works, the first of which, "Fight the Invader (The Immunity Song)" has been released as a digital single. More information is available at her website at
