Lola Parks

"Female Songwriter of the Year" (Vancouver Island Music Awards 2012)
"Most Outstanding Musician" (Denver Festival 1991)

Boho chic soul folk carried by dangerous lyrics, hypnotic grooves, and a seductive voice.

Singer-songwriter Sandy Powlik has been turning heads for years. From fronting a 17-piece big band to co-founding and being sole lyricist for original folk rock group, Sonnenblume, to running the show for over a decade as Lola Parks – she continually progresses and evolves. There has never been as much momentum, traction and BUZZ around this leading songstress as there is today.

A multi-award winner, including “Most Outstanding Musician – Vocal Jazz" and “Female Songwriter of the Year” (and The Q’s “Band of the Year” with her first band, Sonnenblume), her 2011 release, Here, garnered three Vancouver Island Music Awards nominations and continues to receive international attention and grace playlists.

“All This Time,” the first track off new release, The Hustle (2017), is CBC’s all-new “The Early Edition” theme song. “Trouble with Me,” the most popular track off Here (2011), was featured in the indie film, The Orchard, and short film, Ryan & Lola. And her song, “When Comes the Change” (1999) aired on TV’s Higher Ground.

She has performed on five continents, led several Western Canada tours with her trio and shared billing with numerous Grammy and Juno award winners and nominees.
