Lorenzo

In a rare meeting backstage at Cincinnati’s Music Hall, music legend, Prince asked singer/songwriter, Mark Lorenzo, “Do you believe the cream will rise to the top?...” After responding that he did, Prince continued, “...Then you have nothing to worry about.”

The next giant step came when Bill Scull, President of Tri-State Promotions, one of the biggest independent radio promoters and new CEO of EO-Records, first heard the song, “Little Breakdown” in an ASCAP song review session. Bill heard something special
and called the Mark to express his love of the song. Bill Scull’s storied background in music includes working with Clive Davis. “Clive taught me that the song is King,” Bill Scull said, “and Mark has those songs.”

Bill worked to get the song spins on radio stations across the country including his first add at KALC in Denver, CO. Then, he and Emanon Records owner, Mike Busch then sent Mark to the studio to work with Grammy-nominated, Juno-winning producer, Kevin
Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Papa Roach, Disturbed, Hellyeah, In This Moment and Five Finger Death Punch). Kevin has a ton of hit-making experience and helped to fine-tune Mark’s songwriting talents. As Mutt Lange’s engineer/programmer he has worked with such artists as Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton and Celine Dion. Mark has worked on two CDs with Churko, the first one, ironically, was recorded in the same studio that Prince recorded all of his albums up to and including Purple Rain – Sunset Sound in Hollywood.
Kevin Churko later said of Mark, “This is the kind of artist every producer dreams of finding.”

The song, “Nothin’ Left To Talk About” was mastered by legendary engineer Bob Ludwig and received adds at in Cincinnati, OH and Nashville, TN along with a list of other stations.
Mark’s songwriting and music has earned many accolades including: Independent Music Awards (Best know for the “Musician’s Atlas”) “Best Rock CD – Finalist,” and “Best Rock CD –Winner (Vox Populi);” Billboard/Diskmakers IMWS – Best Rock Band in the
Midwest; Lake Erie West Awards for “Best Rock/Alternative Band,” “Performer of the Year,” and 2 awards for “Best Sound Recordings” and the band was also featured on ESPN’s “The Life” website.

Jan Seedman of Cadium Music Publishing/Cadium Recordings who found Nickelback and got them their record deal heard Lorenzo’s songs and immediately wanted to work with him. He said, “It’s really tough to be in a rock group these days and Lorenzo supersedes
the genre with unavoidable melodies and couples those tunes with killer music. The songs just don’t get tired - ever.” Mark’s CD, “Ignition” has been added to over 93 of the top 100 College radio stations the first video from the recording was add to over 77 video outlets including, “CoolTV” and “RNRTV” in major markets. He just completed an east coast tour including an in-studio stop on the Morning Show on WCRN in Long Island, New York.

This follows a successful string of dates with Fuel and Filter. Lorenzo became the first unsigned artist to ever play the 20,500 seat, Riverbend Music Center when they opened for 3 Doors Down and Shinedown. They have opened for or toured with countless other acts including Stone Temple Pilots, Uncle Kracker and Poison. They also co-headlined the WEBN Labor Day Fireworks show for over 50,000 in Cincinnati with Hinder. Lorenzo’s songs have been used on “ESPN College Football,” “Shark” (CBS), “90210” (CW), “Threshold” (CBS), “Girlfriends” (CW) and “3lbs” on (CBS).
